Lake Sabrodt
Lake Sabrodt is currently being flooded and parts of it lie within a restriction zone. The lake will replace the decommissioned Nordrandschlau pit of the Spreetal lignite mine. The flooding is scheduled to be completed in 2023. Plans for the lake include canal links to nearby Lake Bluno, Lake Neuwiese and Lake Spreetal.
Lake Sabrodt is particularly attractive from a tourism perspective because it ticks a lot of boxes as a potential site for a large-scale tourism project.
Cyclists can use a surfaced lakeside path along the northern shore, which is an existing service road used by the mining reclamation company LMBV.
This lake cannot be used for tourism purposes at present because access to large parts of the area has been restricted.
