The Lusatian Lakeland offers excellent opportunities for in-line skating. Some lakes have fully surfaced loop trails suitable for in-line skating and cycling.
Another benefit of these new loop trails is their width, 3.5 metres on average. Motorised vehicles are not allowed to use these paths.
Attention skaters: Until 2021, a short section of the loop trail around Lake Partwitz, just outside the village of Lieske, is being diverted. This brief diversion is covered in loose gravel rather than tarmac, making it unsuitable for skating. The diversion is due to a building site on the northern shore of Lake Sedlitz, which is accessed via this stretch.
A chance for keen leisure skaters and more athletic in-line skaters to take full advantage of the 4.5km Grand Prix circuit at Lausitzring race track. From 7pm to 9pm on selected Fridays during the summer it’s time for Lausitz Bladenight! The large track can easily accommodate several thousand participants without them getting in each other’s way. This leisure sports event for the whole family is also open to cyclists, who are allocated a separate oval race track, the Trioval. Current dates are listed in the events calendar and on the website, www.lausitzer-bladenight.de.
