Eichwege swimming lake
Eichwege swimming lake is located south of the town of Döbern in the Muskau Bend. It was created in Mulde E, a pit extending over some 1,200 metres in length and 200 metres in width on a north-south axis, which was part of the former Gotthelf mine near Eichwege. Since around the 1960s, the lake has steadily gained popularity as a destination for swimming.
In 2003, its tourism facilities were upgraded. Footpaths and beaches with stepped access were created and enhanced with benches and parasols. Further features include a jetty for boats, a playground, new sanitary facilities, a service building and a pontoon on the lake for swimmers.
