Cycle tracks in the Lusatian Lakeland

A cycle track net invites to exploring

There are many ways to get to know the Lusatian Lakeland of its most beautiful sides. The investigation is completely attractive during a cycle-trip. Almost everywhere well removed routes lead through the developing vacation region and make each route to an experience. Impressing natural landscapes, idyllic places, historical sights and growing leisure offers invite many bikers.

We would like to present selected routes which turned out to be real highlights:

>>> Spree-Cycle-Track

Nature friends – watch out! There are such varied landscapes to admire on our route along the Spree (Spree-Cycle-Track). The route leads through flat country with much forest and water. Close to the Bärwalder See, the largest lake of Saxonia, many rare animals and plants are resident in the biosphere reservation called “Oberlausitzer Heide- und Teichlandschaft”.

>>> Mining Tour of the Niederlausitz

An excursion along the Mining Tour of the Niederlausitz guarantees an exciting journey through more than 150 years history of brown coal. The route (altogether more than 500 kilometres long) shows a mixture of industrial culture, impressive opencast minings and new future.

>>> Frog-Cycle-Track

That 260 kilometres long Frog-Cycle-Track leads in the Lusatian Lakeland along the Bernsteinsee and Scheibe-See. The tour shaped by expanded forests and innumerable waters which rare bird- and flower types. But we also meet cultural highlights, like the charming moated castle in Hoyerswerda.

>>> Fürst-Pückler-Track

The Fürst-Pückler-Track (distance: 500 kilometres) goes straight through contemporary history of Lusatia. There are everywhere bizarre landscapes to see. The track involves the most salient points of the Fürst-Pückler-Country and connects nearly all 25 projects of the International Building Exhibition (IBA).

But of course in the Lusatian Lakeland is much more to get to know. The tourist-information centre informs about further thematic routes like the new Seenland-Route or the Krabat-Cycle-Track.
