Theatre and culture

The theatre Neue Bühne Senftenberg became famous supraregional with the productions during the annual Glück-Auf-Fest. Many visitors from far and wide came to the play ground and different unusual play grounds in Senftenberg – into the “theatre of the year 2005” – to watch Faust I and II or the Sommernachtstraum.

The amphitheatre at Lake Senftenberg with 600 seats offers best summer-theatre during June and August. On beautiful summer evenings comedy, kids-theatre and concerts lure guests into the open air ground, which is built in the Greek-Roman style. It enriches the cultural offer at the Senftenberger See since 2001. The open air ground “Theater im Ohr” at the Bärwalder See also offers a special charm. The art object in Boxberg was completely made out of sand. The approx. 350 meters long, 250 meters broad and up to 18 meters high accessible pinna encloses the stage and the auditorium with 270 seats. More than one dozen events are planned in the summer months.

Further cultural establishments are looking forward to your visit e.g. the Lausitzhalle (hall of Lusatia) and the cultural factory in Hoyerswerda.
